Institutional Mission

Observatory Staff

Founded as an independent stargazing collective, Team Meteor Zubll curates precise observational data, ephemeris calculations, and optical methodologies for celestial observers across the globe. We hold that the study of meteor showers represents one of the most accessible intersections between professional orbital mechanics and personal human wonder.

Our Editorial Charter

In an era dominated by automated headlines and sensationalized astronomical claims, our gazette adheres strictly to empirical observation standards established by the International Meteor Organization (IMO) and the Minor Planet Center. We reject hyperbole, prioritizing accurate Zenithal Hourly Rate estimates, verified parent bodies, and practical dark-sky navigation.

Chief Astrodynamicist

Dr. Julian K. Mercer

Former postdoctoral researcher in cometary orbital dynamics at Steward Observatory. Focuses on stream modeling, filament gravitational perturbance, and radar backscatter correlation.

Field Optics Director

Sarah Lin, M.Sc.

Astrophotographer and optical instrument specialist. Oversees night-sky preservation surveys, sensor quantum efficiency tests, and all-sky camera installations.

Commitment to Dark Skies

Over 80% of North Americans and Europeans live under artificial sky brightness that completely obliterates the Milky Way. Our editorial board partners with local communities and nature preserves to champion responsible shielded lighting, promoting natural night environments necessary for both scientific astronomy and biological circadian rhythms.

Independence Notice

Team Meteor Zubll is an entirely self-supported non-commercial educational project. We accept no hardware sponsorships that could bias our optical recommendations, and we maintain complete sovereignty over our almanac figures and field assessments.
